EricaWise comenzó sus estudios musicales a la edad de cinco años y empezó a tocar el chelo con nueve años, cuando vivía en Göttingen, Alemania. Se graduó en el PeabodyInstituteof John Hopkins University de Baltimore, estudiando con Ronald Thomas. En el conservatorio de New England, concluyó un postgrado con los maestros CollinCarr, Larry Lesser y Garry Hoffman. Gracias a una beca concedida por la Fondation des Etats-UnitsHarriet Hale Woolley, estudió violonchelo barroco en París con David Simpson.

Como solista ha trabajado con los directores Michael Stern y Keith Lockhart entre otros, actuando en el Aspen Music Festival y en el Jordan Hall de Boston, MA. Asimismo, la señora Wise ha tocado numerosos recitales en Estados Unidos, Francia y España.

EricaWise es miembro fundadora del Dalia Quartet, Funktion y miembro del Trío Lorca. Ha colaborado con los cuartetos Henschel y Quiroga, miembros del Cuarteto Casals, Anthony Marwood y AntjeWeithaas. EricaWise es profesora de Violonchelo al Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu.

Erica Wise began her musical studies at the age of five, and started the cello at the age of nine while living in Gottingen, Germany. She graduated from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University studying with Ronald Thomas. She went on to complete a Masters Degree at the New England Conservatory studying with Colin Carr, Larry Lesser and Gary Hoffman. As a recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship from the Fondation des Etats-Unis, Ms. Wise studied baroque cello with David Simpson at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris.

As soloist, she has worked with conductors Michael Stern and Keith Lockhart, among others, performing concertos at the Aspen Music Festival and in Jordan Hall of Boston, MA. In addition, she has performed numerous recitals in the U.S., France and Spain.

Ms. Wise is a founding member of the Dalia Quartet and Funktion and a member of Trio Lorca. She enjoys many chamber music collaborations, performing with aritist such as Kennedy Moretti, LluïsaEspigolé, and the Quiroga and Henschel Quartets. In the past years, she has been invited to Aspen, Tanglewood, IMS Prussia Cove and Yellow Barn Music Festivals and has toured with the New World and Baltimore Symphonies.

A passionate performer of the music composed during our lifetime, she has given both national and international premieres as soloist or as a member of Funktion of works by Yuval Gotlibovich, Damien Luna, Joan Magrané, OctaviRumbau, Tristan Perich and Hanne Darboven, for example.

Ms. Wise currently is Professor of Cello at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona.
